Pneumatic conveying is defined as the process by which bulk powders or materials are transferred or transported utilizing a certain volume of displaced gas or air. The bulk materials are usually transferred through an enclosed pipeline by the force of pressure generated by a positive displacement blower. A positive displacement blower is able to produce this positive pressure by trapping a certain volume of air then discharging or forcing it out against the system pressure. Pneumatic conveying is recognized as a very efficient and clean way to transfer materials and often recommended by leading manufacturers and suppliers.
